Every aspect of our practice is built around comfort, relaxation, and genuine respect for your wellness journey.

Oral anatomy and jaw development play a significant role in breathing and sleep quality. We offer biological, airway-aware evaluation and collaborative care for patients with sleep apnea and sleep-related breathing disorders. Learn how dentistry can support better sleep on our sleep and breathing disorders and sleep apnea dental treatment page.
Jaw alignment, muscle balance, and bite stability play a critical role in TMJ disorders, facial pain, headaches, and chronic jaw tension. We offer biologically guided evaluation and custom appliance, including facelift appliance, designed to reduce strain on the jaw joints, support neuromuscular balance, and protect teeth from clenching and grinding.
Many patients come to us searching for an alternative to root canal therapy that aligns with a biological approach to health.
Our practice offers root canal alternatives (biological evaluation & infection-focused care) focused on complete infection removal, biocompatible materials, and long-term oral-systemic wellness—rather than simply treating symptoms.
We provide airway-focused clear aligner therapy designed to improve function, comfort, and long-term dental stability. We also discuss benefits, limitations, and our biological approach away from ALF appliance (Advanced Lightwire Functional – ALF device) in favor of clear aligners therapies.
Our biological dental hygiene program goes far beyond traditional cleanings. Led by our IAOMT-certified biological hygienist, one of only 50 certified nationwide and the only certified biological hygienist in Virginia, we focus on biofilm management, gum health, and whole-body wellness. We utilize Guided Biofilm Therapy (Airflow®) and precision laser and ozone therapy to reduce harmful bacteria, support holistic periodontal health.
Our practice provides holistic pediatric dental care focused on prevention, biocompatible materials, and gentle techniques that support healthy growth and development. We care for children in a calm, supportive environment rooted in biological principles.
At Virginia Biological Dentistry, our focus goes beyond treating teeth — we support your long-term systemic health through preventive, biocompatible, and regenerative care. Each treatment we provide reflects our commitment to science, integrity, and patient-centered excellence.
I was growing up in the 80s in Ukraine and we didn’t have much, but we had great family values. One of those values was work-life balance. We had time for conversation and that’s how I practice my dentistry. I sit down and have the conversation with the patients. I spent lots of time with them. The other part of our value was healthy lifestyle. And healthy lifestyle meant healthy food. We would go to the market and we would pick up the vegetables, grow naturally, walk outside. We would have regular physical activity. That’s what I wanted to do through the life. I wanted to help people to have that balance, to have that health and happiness in the life. In Virginia Biological Dentistry, we recognize oral health being an indicator of overall health. And it’s not just about changing the smile or fixing the tooth. It’s about improving the quality of life, improving the longevity of life. We are also very open-minded. Patients know their body the best. We always listen. We love our patients and we love what we do.
We offer specialized bio hygiene cleanings for new and established patients. Under the mentorship and guidance of Dr. Hart, Jennifer, our biological hygienist — one of only 50 IAOMT-certified biological hygienists nationwide — leads the bio hygiene program spearheaded by her expertise in the Airflow® treatments and laser therapies for inflamed gums. Through the masterful application of these advanced, minimally invasive methods, our biological hygienist can precisely remove bad bacterial in patient mouth, reduce pocket depths that is home to bad bacteria, allowing gums to reattach more effectively and support the body’s natural healing mechanisms by promoting tissue regeneration and healing.
Our unique bio hygiene aligns with the principles of biological dentistry with its emphasis on natural, non-toxic, minimally invasive treatments to restore and maintain oral health in support of overall health.
Smile Smart. Live Long. Choose Biological Dentistry for Lifespan Support & Improvement. At Virginia Biological Dentistry, we believe oral health is a foundational key to living a longer, healthier life. Your mouth isn’t just about teeth—it’s a biological system deeply connected to your brain, heart, immune system, and entire body.
I discovered I had a few cavities that need to be filled and more importantly even, I had some bridge work that had deteriorated from the past 30 years. So when I found out about a biological dentist and some of the health benefits from that and I read on Dr. Hart’s website that she also is able to help with my snoring, I decided I definitely wanted to go and have a consultation. It was great going to a dentist that has an overall focus on the health of the body, which included ceramic implants versus metal. The process I went through to have this work done was in one word, relaxing. The people are just a pleasure to be around. Everyone in the office is a pleasure to be around. And when you lay back in the chair, they put these headphones on you, you watch television during the process. For me, this is about the best possible experience that a person could have going to a dentist. And I’m very happy with the results. They did a great job on my teeth. And as far as the snoring, I have an appliance that was made specifically for my mouth and I have seen much improvement in my sleep. I wake up more rested than I ever have before.
So I came to Dr. Hart and I’ve been using my myrobaris for one and a half years and it’s been great. Before I wore my myrobaris, my teeth were crooked and my smile was really bad. Now, my smile is really good. You can see it.
In the past, I’ve had some difficulties with some of my dental care and I was looking for a professional who was gonna be able to give me what I felt would be best for me. Dr. Hart came up number one in this area as a choice to pursue. Dr. Hart has a holistic viewpoint on dental care. The procedure that I had performed was a ceramic implant followed by a crown. From that point, I received care for the next several months, returned visits, she was checking to see how it was healing. We got to the end of the procedure, which was the ceramic crown, which was made the day of the implant, which was a new procedure for me. The results that I obtained at the end have been magnificent. I’m very pleased with the results. The work was completed on time to a very high standard.
Biological dentistry heralds a paradigm shift in oral care and is gaining popularity as more patients seek a holistic alternative to traditional practices. But how can you distinguish a biological dentist from a conventional one? NINE ESSENTIAL SIGNS
Biological restorative care focuses on preserving natural tooth structure through biomimetic techniques and nonmetal, biocompatible materials. Each restoration is designed to protect long-term function while harmonizing with your body’s natural biology.
Healthy gums are essential to whole-body wellness. Our biologically based periodontal care uses ozone, laser therapy, and natural biofilm control to reduce inflammation, support the microbiome, and promote balanced healing without harsh chemicals.
Non-metal ceramic implants made from biocompatible zirconia integrate naturally with bone and soft tissue. This holistic approach supports the body’s immune system while restoring beauty, stability, and long-term function.
Gentle, prevention-focused dentistry for children using nonmetal, BPA-free, and fluoride-free materials. We emphasize education, airway awareness, and natural development to help children grow strong, confident, and biologically healthy smiles.
How we meet our patient is actually quite a process. We invite them for a comprehensive exam. So the first part of the exam is the taking all the data, multiple pictures, x-rays, pH of saliva, blood pressure. And I studied, I studied the CBC T3 dimensional x-ray. I studied the picture. I think what would be the best plan and sometimes it’s several plans. And it’s not just the plan, but it’s also how I can help to not just achieve the health, but keep that health for a long time. If you have stress-free experience, your body heals better. So we use all possible means like sedation dentistry, like relaxing music, TV, headphones, warm pillows. They get the treatment, but they don’t feel the stress of it.
One of the services which sets us apart from other practices is the service of ceramic implant. So patients are coming with the infected tooth and they want to get rid of the infection of course. We take the tooth out with the biological protocol. The same day we can place that ceramic implant. And that ceramic implant is very biocompatible. The tissue loves it. It heals very well and it looks great. And it’s a great, great benefit for the patient health.

Much better for my body’s health.
In the past I’ve had some difficulties with some of my dental care and I was looking for a professional who was going to be able to give me what I felt would be best for me. The results that I obtained at the end have been magnificent. The work was completed on time to a very high standard.
If you’re looking for a healthy and positive experience at the dentist office, then I would highly recommend Virginia Biological Dentistry.
I actually feel very lucky to practice the way I do. Not many people in the United States or any other countries, for instance, can practice with so much new technology. We have laser dentistry which has multiple applications. CBCT, which is three-dimensional x-ray. So we can diagnose very precisely because of all those tools. We can execute the treatment plan within one day. We can have a patient who says, “I haven’t been to audiences for a long time and I want to achieve this goal.” And we can just do it for one day. And of course, the cleaning technology of the air flow which removes the biofilm. Technology is just a great tool and we are just so lucky to provide that for our patients.
