How does the remote consultation process work?

The consultation process involves submitting detailed diagnostic data, including CBCT images, intraoral photos, and 2D X-rays. After payment is received, Dr. Hart thoroughly reviews the data before a one-on-one virtual consultation, discussing findings, diagnoses, and treatment options.

What diagnostic data do I need to submit for the consultation?

You need to submit the following:

CBCT (cone beam 3D) image of all teeth, taken within the last 6 months.
Seven different intraoral photos (taken with retractors).
2D X-rays (bitewings and periapical) of all teeth, taken within the previous 6 months.
You must pay a non-refundable fee of $800 for the consultation.

How should I send the diagnostic data?

Email the diagnostic data to info@virginiabiologicaldentistry.com. Use WeTransfer to send large files, such as the CBCT image. In the message field of WeTransfer, please include your full name, date of birth, and the date the CBCT was taken.

Is there anything in particular that the email shouldn’t contain?

Do not email diagnostic images older than 6 months or small, single-tooth CBCT or other images. All photos should be of full mouth or the complete set required for a comprehensive evaluation.

How much does the consultation cost?

The consultation requires a non-refundable fee of $800. This fee includes reviewing your diagnostic data, scheduling your consultation, and sharing necessary forms with you. Payment can be made using our online payment system or by contacting (804) 381-6238.

What happens after I submit my diagnostic data and make the payment?

Dr. Hart will carefully review the information after your payment is processed and your diagnostic data is received. She will then prepare for the consultation, ensuring that she can offer a detailed, personalized pre-treatment plan during your virtual consultation.

What happens during the virtual consultation?

During the 45-minute consultation, Dr. Hart will review your submitted diagnostic information, explain her findings, and discuss potential treatment options. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and collaborate on a pre-treatment plan.

What happens after the virtual consultation?

Once you decide to proceed with the treatment, the following steps will be taken:

A non-refundable down payment of 50% for the pre-treatment plan will be required to schedule the treatment.
We schedule a Pre-Treatment Office Visit the day before treatment for a final exam and any additional diagnostic work needed.
On the following day, the recommended treatment will take place.
