Glen Allen area dentist practices biological care for an all-encompassing route to oral care

Virginia Biological Dentistry offers biological general dental care

It’s an error of modern dental care that not much consideration is given beyond the ailment and the proper way to treat it. Although this sentiment may not sound bad, Virginia Biological Dentistry believes patients deserve and the surrounding environment deserve more.

One of the more common oral ailments Dr. Hart sees is tooth decay. When bacteria buildup creates plaque, a hole or cavity follows. If left untreated, a cavity leads to more serious problems down the road. To prevent the problem from getting worse, dentists remove damaged tooth material and repair the tooth with a filling. While common, amalgam fillings are made from a combination of metals, including mercury. Virginia Biological Dentistry believes any amount of mercury is too much. Porcelain and resin composite are the preferred materials to fill cavities, so the appearance of your smile remains natural, and ill effects to you and the environment are avoided.

Dr. Hart’s office reflects this training. Treatment rooms are fitted with air filtering and the X-ray machines produce minimal radiation exposure. Biological dentistry involves more than treating the pressing issue; it requires treating the patient as a whole for long-term health. For example, advanced gum disease is a precursor to systemic problems.

Care at Virginia Biological Dentistry is personalized, to best prevent and treat oral ailments, and maintain health. Dr. Hart and her team are proud to provide quality care to patients and their families, and care that accounts for the health of the surrounding environment.
